The Tale of a Dreamer

I don’t think I have ever seen a Tee Shirt size displayed as such.
RTotM: Pain
- I decided to stay home from work today. Not that I really wanted, or needed, an extra day off. Nathan didn’t get much sleep last night and may be in pain from the sunburn again. I am sick to my stomach thanks to the overwhelming pain that is emanating from my sunburnt cranium. I also didn’t sleep well last night. I am exhausted. I barely slept last night.
- Ms.Katie feels incredibly bad about me having to travel to the grocery store at 2:30 am to get the Aloe for Nathan and I’s sunburn. I keep telling her not to worry about it. It needed to be done. I am the one who figured out that the initial burn cream was expired and not working. I actually think I obtained that bottle in 2010 or so. So it’s understandable that it didn’t work.
- I just read an article about how children are eating the new laundry detergent packs (Tide Pods, All Mighty Pacs, etc…). What I don’t understand is why? They don’t look like anything appetizing I have ever seen. they don’t even look like candy. I mean I guess the colored liquid kind of looks a liquid candy… maybe. What baffles me even more is the fact that the Pods and Pacs aren’t even a new item on the market. Dish washing detergent pacs have been around for the good portion of a decade. You would think Children would be smarter than that. I made sure TinyTot knows it’s soap inside them and that he is not to eat them.
3AM
So here I sit. Weary eyed and slightly irritated. Not at anyone in particular, more so at the fact that it is 3:30 and I should be sleeping. I have to get up in less than 4 hours. I haven’t slept much tonight. Earlier today, both TinyTot and I got sunburnt. He woke up crying because it hurt so badly. Unfortunately for us, our burn cream expired in January, rendering its strength useless. It worked for maybe an hour. So at 2:30, I left. I drove to the closest 24 hour grocery store and bought two new bottles of aloe to alleviate our pain. Now he is happily sleeping in bed with Mommy, while I am forced to the futon. It doesn’t help matters much that it is incredibly muggy out. Quite frankly, had we a different home, I would have air conditioning. Instead we are forced to use a few fans which okay, but not when the apartment is 86 degrees. Our apartment complex is extremely restrictive when it comes to A/C units. If you want one, they have to install it which incurs a maintenance cost. As well as increased rent for the unit. Overall it isn’t worth it. Ms.Katie spoke briefly to her Uncle, however he said he would rather speak in person as opposed to on the phone. But he is willing to speak to her. Sadly we have to wait until the end of June before he will speak to her.
It’s late. The clock on the screen says 3:39. I should probably head to bed. I have to be oh so resplendent at work tomorrow. We have a staff meeting that involves just the Web and Creative departments that is supposed to discuss everyone’s overall attitude, work, etc… Oh joy…

RTotM: Part II
I am sitting here waiting for my clothes to finish drying, which is incredibly boring.
- I really hate doing laundry. Let me rephrase that, I have am allergic to 90% of laundry related items such as laundry detergent and dryer sheets. Let me rephrase that again, the chemicals that are contained in the aforementioned items. I can’t do laundry without feeling like I am going into respiratory distress. My first asthma attack came after I was cleaning my basement bedroom while the washer/dryer was running at my Father’s old home. I thought it was just super stuffy and that was why I couldn’t breathe so I stepped out side to get some fresh air and cool down. My Step-Mother saw me and asked what I was doing. When I explained it to her, she said come in side and sit on the couch. She consulted my Father and they decided to take me to the ER. I was put on a nebulizer treatment which was essentially me breathing with a mask on that was connected to a hose that had a greenish-blue liquid that evaporated when I breathed it in. It was a cool experience because it was the first time I really had been in the ER for a long time for myself.
- I really haven’t been to the hospital for anything serious my entire life. The longest stay I have ever had at the hospital was when Nathan was born and that was approximately 2 days.
- Everyone keeps insulting my beard. Well, I guess not insulting but making jokes about it. What is wrong with having a beard? Everyone keeps calling me Amish. NOT ALL AMISH PEOPLE HAVE BEARDS. I would know, a few of our clients were Amish. I have met them. They were clean shaven. I see myself as more of a Lumber Jack than anything with my Red Plaid Sweat shirts and my winter hat. I may not be as beefy as a mountain man but I do like the outdoors and love hiking. I just never have anyone to go with me. My mother said I should trim up my beard. I told her no. It’s my beard and I will grow the damned thing long if I want to.
- The Batman I posted reminds me of a Fire Fighter due to the bright green trim on his outfit.
- Fuck, I just had something decently profound to say but I lost it…
- I am not a fan of Granny Smith Apples. I bought a bag because Nathan prefers green to red apples and they are just too tart for me. They also don’t seem like they are fully in season yet. Maybe that is why. They seem too firm and not at all juicy enough to be apples. Almost like they were harvested too early… I don’t know but after this bag I am changing types. Macintosh Apples are pretty good. So are Golden Delicious.

My brother has a wicked Sweet Batman in his room. When I asked him why, he actually was quite confused and said he thought it was TinyTot’s. I told him it wasn’t and he said, oh well give it to him. According to my Mom, it belongs to brother’s friend’s kid. Oh well, finder’s keepers.
RTotM: It feels like it’s Sunday, not Monday…
Here are a few observations from this weekend…
- Ambien has no affect over me. I took two (they were relatively small doses I think) and I still woke up at 7:20 am like usual. That was after going to bed at 2am. I also didn’t get tired right away. It was almost like my body reverted to the 2008-2009 version of itself when I was working Overnight at Walmart. The long hours overnight taught me to fight sleep and stay awake, so I think those instincts kicked back in.
- I got sunburn on my head today. It hurts, especially when I grab a towel to dry off my sweaty head. I’ll be needing the aloe tonight for sure.
- This week work week is only going to be 3 days for me, since I will be off Friday for ComicCon. Not that it fully matters anyways. We are slow at work and I do not have a ton of jobs to do.
- According to NOAA, with the heat index, it is 91* out. I am inside my Mother’s house, in a darkened room on the first floor that barely gets sunlight, and I am still sweating my balls off.
- I have come to a recent realization, I hate popsicles. They are cool and solid, however when you suck on them they turn to a liquid. I like liquids I can drink. Drinks a cool and refreshing. I always get frustrated at popsicles. I do however like the Real Fruit bars. I like those because the are fruit, they stay solid longer, and don’t drip as much. Drippiness is a factor.

It isn’t very often that I sit atop our steps. It is a different view than I have seen the past few years. I mean, we so often pass by objects and don’t take time to reflect on things. We often pass things by without noticing them, and if asked we probably couldn’t tell you what it looked like if we tried. I need to slow down a bit and view the world. (Taken with instagram)
I took a short nap because it was hot and the fan felt great. I woke up to the beautiful sound of a thunderstorm overhead, the smell of fresh rain, and a quiet, dark apartment. Well that was of course until Nathan came in and needed something. At least I got a moment to enjoy the atmosphere.

Random Stranger
While at I was at Walmart earlier, some man called me Luke after he saw my Star Wars shirt. Incredibly random, kind of weird, but still pretty cool.

Our Walmart finally received a new shipment of Action Figures, just in time for action figure Friday. #StarWars (Taken with instagram)

TinyTot wanted me to be a Princess when we were playing Knights and Princesses. He also was a princess and even said ‘my Hero’ to Mommy the Knight who saved him from the Evil man Dada.

Nathan wanted to play Knights and princesses, so Mommy gets to be the Pretty Princess. (Taken with instagram)
