The Tale of a Dreamer
Truthful Tuesday:

The ever so lovely Ms.Jade asked her followers to do a Truthful Tuesday because she likes reading them. So here is my Truthful Tuesday…

I like the Star Wars Prequels. I know I have said this before and before you all get your panties in bunches and unfollow let me explain. I am a fan of the movies because it expands the storyline. Do I think as a result of him making the prequels he should have altered the original trilogy, hell no. My most Cherished possessions are the unaltered VHS tapes and the unaltered DVD bonus discs they came out with in 2006. I love the Original Trilogy and it will always be what I choose first. I still to this day dread watching them on TV, a. Because of the commercials and B. Because they are the edited versions. When it comes to the Original Trilogy, I am a purist.

As for the prequels I like them because they were the Star Wars Movies I got to see during their original runs in theaters. Being born in 1986, I could not see the Original Trilogy in theaters during it’s original run. So to me the Prequel Trilogy has sort of a special place in my heart but that love only goes so far. Do I care that he edits the prequel trilogy, hell no. He wants to add sound effects and change them have at it. Will I stop watching them, no. There are parts of the prequel trilogy that I strongly dislike. I hate Jar-Jar and think he is an annoying unnecessary character (some say the same about the Ewoks, those people can fuck themselves), some of the acting is a bit hard to swallow, the cheesiness of some of the plot lines, the unnecessary stuff (I.E. Episode II’s droid factory scene with C-3PO, some of the battle droids movements/mannerisms were too human like and not enough like robots, and parts of episode III). Honestly, if you were to remove Jar-Jar from Episode I and II, take out some of the childish bits like C-3PO in the droid factory in Episode II, Fix some of the hard to swallow acting, the prequels would not be a bad set of movies. Honestly, I love the lightsaber battles in the prequels. The choreography is outstanding. The space battles, are awesome (aside from episode I’s space battle that was kind of cheesy). Podracing is pretty sweet. Qui-Gon and Darth Maul are characters that I would’ve loved to see more of and learn more about (but that’s what EU is for).

Am I going to see them in 3D in theaters, yeah because I love Star Wars and really would love to see it on the big screen again. Will they release it in 2D as well so I don’t have a headache (probably) and then I will take the TinyTot because he loves Star Wars. He loves Darth Vader, R2-D2, Yoda, C-3PO, Luke, Han, Leia, Stormtroopers, Chewbacca, Obi-Wan… He loves Star Wars. He loves the movies. Does he prefer the prequels to the original no. He loves Return of the Jedi and The Phantom Menace. He loves Revenge of the Sith for the Lightsaber battles…

All in all, I am a fan of Star Wars.
