As per usual, TinyTot has switched his halloween costume idea for the 20th time. He has settled on being BMO from Adventure Time, which is great because I have some ideas on making him a BMO Costume.
Since TinyTot and I have done group costumes since his 2nd Halloween, my inquiry for help is on how to make myself an Alt Finn cosplay. I really like the idea of this Punk Rock Peter Pan, however I am unsure of how to translate it in a similar way for Adventure Time without ripping the original cosplayer off, because that idea is wicked cool. I also am worried about temperature since we do live in Pennsylvania and it is rapidly getting colder. I want to at least keep the basics of Finn’s Character (hat, sword, backpack) but I want to modify it a bit. I will definitely be wearing boots of Black Chucks… Do I want a dark pair of jeans or do I want some plaid pants? Do I want to make a studded vest from a thrift store jean jacket or do I want a hooded sweatshirt? If I do wear a vest would I wear a tee-shirt or a button down underneath? Or do I combine the two, a hoodie and a vest?
so many ideas, so little time…
I feel like I really dropped the ball this morning with today’s sandwich bag drawing. I fell asleep on the couch last night and subsequently was running late this morning and only had time for a 30 second doodle. Hopefully TinyTot will appreciate the effort, I at least cut it into the shape of Finn’s head… Tomorrow’s will be a hell of a lot better.
I don’t care if he is only 5 and really won’t care, I’m better than that. I can produce better quality things than that. I give myself a C for effort but an F for execution. Honestly.. I feel ashamed for this one. I hope he at least likes it.
Went to the book store tonight during our family night out… I saw these Adventure Time Mad Libs books… Had to get them.
Finn versus Zombie Ice King.
plus bonus owl head
I received my new Adventure Time Tee from WeLoveFine in the mail today.
If you don’t know the reference, you suck and should go here… and here…
'With Jake the Dog and Finn the Human. The fun it never ends, it's Adventure Time!'
A few Kids recognized our Finn & Jake costumes. However, it was the few parents who recognized our costume that made the night even better. At one point there was a 2 minute excited shouting match as an excited parent was exclaiming ‘Hey look it’s Finn and Jake!’ as the TinyTot excited pointed out a boy dressed as a Stormtrooper. One parent even quipped it was the best costume he had seen all night (and this was around 7:30pm, a good hour and a half into the Trick or Treating).
I think the costumes turned out great. Even in the bitter chill (43*) of the October Night, he kept exceptionally warm in his layers of clothing (thermal, turtle neck, and tee shirt). Never once did he complain he was cold. His only complaint was he had to pee. All in all it was a great night.
Bought an Adventure Time ‘Finn the Human’ hat at the Mall yesterday. Have been wearing it like a Boss the past two days. People at the mall gave me interesting looks. Because I look so awesome.
Watching Adventure Time…
And in the Episode ‘His Hero’
The Great Warrior* Billy sounds like Lou Ferrigno… hmmm….
*Wars not make one great.
This has to be one of the coolest cartoon characters I’ve seen in a while. Who is this dashing mustachioed man you ask? It’s Mr. Cupcake from Adventure Time.
He’s definitely awesome.
